Jessica Biel’s “Easy Virtue”

Jessica Biel was spotted hanging around with co-stars Kristen Scott Thomas, Kimberley Nixon, and Ben Barnes on the set of her new film “ Easy Virtue” on Wednesday (February 27).

The 25-year-old is situated in England shooting the romantic comedy directed by Stephan Elliott and based on Noel Coward’s play, with a synopsis telling of the movie: “An American divorcée meets her new in-laws after tying the knot with a young Englishman on the spur of the moment in France.”

Meanwhile, it appears that Miss Biel has gotten a little advice from Scarlett Johansson regarding rumors that her boyfriend Justin Timberlake “has been secretly dating Kate Hudson for the past year.”

Of the situation, a source told OK! magazine: “Jessica knows she and Justin are happy and there are no problems. But she wanted to get a female perspective on the best way to handle all the rumors about him with other girls. Scarlett told her to ignore the speculation and concentrate on the relationship.”

The insider adds that Biel now wants Johansson and boyfriend Ryan Reynolds to go out on a double date, saying: “Jessica has suggested that when she gets back from filming her latest movie Easy Virtue she could teach Scarlett to play golf so they could double-date with Justin and Ryan.”
 

Heath Ledger Death Investigation Continues

While he’s already been laid to rest during a moving ceremony in his hometown of Perth, the investigation revolving around Heath Ledger’s untimely death still marches on.

According to the latest reports, a doctor in California and another in Texas are under investigation by federal drug authorities in the matter of Heath’s passing.

“We are investigating doctors in Los Angeles and Texas with regard to Ledger’s prescriptions,” an insider confirmed to People magazine.

Whether or not any wrongdoings occurred is still up in the air, as the source told:  “We don’t know yet. The agents were there this week, and we are waiting to hear from them.”

“The doctors in question are thought to have supplied Ledger with Oxycontin and Vicodin,” law enforcement sources tell New York’s Daily News.

Ashlee Simpson: No Wedding Yet

She’s been working her tail off in hopes of big numbers when her album drops this April, most recently making an appearance on The Sauce on Wednesday (February 27).

And during all of the promotional duties, “Outta My Head” singer Ashlee Simpson finally opened up about the diamond band she’s been wearing on the the one digit that matters.

When the younger Simpson sibling dropped by Fuse TV to promote Bittersweet World, she admitted that it’s a promise ring from Fall Out Boy boyfriend, Pete Wentz.

Ashlee told, “It just means that he hasn’t asked my dad yet.” Meanwhile, Simpson’s rep gave an expectedly short response, saying: “She is not engaged.”
 

Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen Hit LAX

Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen were all smiles as they touched down and made their way through their terminal at LAX airport on Thursday (February 28).

The co-star couple are returning to the States after a trip overseas for the Tokyo premiere of their Valentine’s Day release “Jumper”.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, the former OC star and the Star Wars stud were in Japan trying to stir up the same box office draw there as they received in the States.

In their new movie, Jumper, “A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere. He discovers this gift has existed for centuries and finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between ‘Jumpers’ and those who have sworn to kill them”.

Jessica Alba Lands In Paris

Spotted departing from LAX airport last night, Jessica Alba made her grand arrival in Paris, France on Thursday (February 28).

The pregnant Sin City actress is visiting the city of lights for one of her favorite annual pleasures - Paris fashion week, along with co-planned promotional duties for her new movie “The Eye”.
Meanwhile, Miss Alba has been talkative with press as of late, speaking about her first-time experience as a mother-to-be.

Alba told: “When you’re pregnant, your breasts are engorged and your stomach is getting bigger by the second. But it’s awesome. It’s the best time ever.”

Natalie Portman Hits Letterman

The crowds outside the Ed Sullivan Theater yesterday got quite a treat when “Garden State” actress Natalie Portman arrived for her appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman”.

With her new movie “The Other Boleyn Girl” coming out tomorrow, Portman has been on a rapidly-paced promotional schedule as of late. 

Natalie charmed the throngs of spectators with her usual cute disposition, signing autographs and posing for pictures in a black wool coat and some strappy shoes.

Of playing Anne Boleyn in the new flick, Portman commented on the unfortunate nature of what seemed to be a predetermined, self-fulfilling prophecy.

“Yeah, she’s born into this world where it’s been sort of prescribed for her to be like a power-monger. They label the kids at the beginning. Anne’s the clever, tricky one, and Mary’s the sweet, good one, and they sort of fulfill their labels.”

Mariah Carey is a Promotional Machine

She has a new fragrance on the market, and pretty soon she will be releasing a new album.  Translation: 2008 may be Mariah Carey’s biggest year yet.

The “We Belong Together” singer was furiously promoting her new single “Touch My Body” yesterday with trips to two major media outlets - MTV’s Total Request Live and BET’s 106 & Park.

At the TRL studios, Mimi looked ghetto-chic in a red see-through top over a black bra coupled with some beat up jeans.

Over at BET, she went a more glamorous route, with a shiny black spaghetti strap shirt and some black leather pants.

Her new album “E=MC2” is scheduled to drop on April 15th, following a 5.8-million-selling, 3-Grammy-winning “The Emancipation of Mimi.”

Taylor Swift Does TRL

MTV Studios was a busy place to be yesterday.  First, Mariah Carey stopped by.  And then Taylor Swift made a grand appearance, complete with a live performance.

The “Our Song” singer was looking classy in a black dress with black cowboy boots as she charmed the audience at 1515 Broadway.  She even brought her silver sparkle top Taylor guitar and played the crowd a ditty.

It’s hard to believe she’s only seventeen, with a promising music career that started largely in part to the networking website MySpace.

Taylor told press, “I got into MySpace because my friends were all about it.  It’s how we communicate. I didn’t want people to think my MySpace was something a record company did as a promotion thing. But letting people in, letting them know who you are, is a good thing.”

Heidi Klum Almost Pulls a Britney

In a world where parents barely have time to put their kids on a bus that takes them to school each day, it’s refreshing to see celebs like Heidi Klum giving her kids a little added attention.

The German supermodel was spotted picking up her daughter Leni from her Culver City, California school yesterday, wearing a full-length coat and Rasta-inspired beanie.

That long coat would’ve come in handy during a recent trip to the Ellen DeGeneres show.  When Heidi made her way onto the set, she suddenly realized that the mini dress she was wearing would expose her panties as she sat down.

Heidi said, “I don’t know what I was thinking, why didn’t I wear a dress? I wore a t-shirt with a belt.  Please keep the cameras up as I move down.”

But Ellen offered Klum a little saving grace in the form of a promo t-shirt to cover herself.  Klum commented, “I just try things on but I don’t rehearse at home how I am going to sit.  I was thinking as we were dancing, how am I going to do this now?  The t-shirt is perfect - I might use this to watch TV at home too.”

TomKat’s Evening Out with The Smith’s

Hollywood “it” couples Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, along with Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, were all out for a group dinner on Wednesday night (February 27).

TomKat and the Smith’s opted for a bite at Wolfgang Puck’s famous restaurant, Cut, smiling as they quickly entered the classy establishment.

After a two hour feast, the power couples emerged happy and well-fed at around 10pm to a swarm of awaiting photographers outside.

From there, TomKat hopped into their awaiting ride and sped off, while Will and Jada gave each other a quick smooch before making their way back home.
