Ashley Tisdale’s Picture Perfect Day

Kick-starting her Memorial Day weekend, Ashley Tisdale was spotted out shopping at the Glendale Mall with her family on Friday (May 23).

The Disney star recently returned back home to Los Angeles after spending time in Utah for the filming of the highly anticipated Disney sequel, “High School Musical 3”.

And HSM3 isn’t the only flick that Ashley has her hands in, as she’s also completed a new TV/straight-to-DVD film titled “Picture This”.

According to a “Picture This” press release, “Ashley stars in this hilarious teen comedy as Mandy, an unpopular high school senior who lands a date to the biggest party of the year with Drew, the schools hottest guy. But while her dreams are finally coming into focus, with the help of her friends, shell have to battle her overprotective dad and Drews ex-girlfriend, whos determined to keep Mandy away from the bash. In one crazy, adventure-filled day, Mandy strives to get to the party and discovers that popularity can come and go, but good friends will always be in the picture!”

Adding to her starring role, Ms. Tisdale also took on the behind the scenes duties of “Executive Producer” - with the ABC Family original movie premiering Sunday, July 13, (8:00 - 10:00 PM ET/PT).

Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie: Lunch Date

Recently returned to Los Angeles following promotional duties and charity work along the east coast, Hilary Duff is taking advantage of a brief downtime in her busy schedule.

Spotted out on a gorgeous Memorial Day weekend Saturday afternoon (May 24), Duff grabbed a late lunch at the Coral Tree Cafe in Brentwood with her hockey star boyfriend, Mike Comrie.

Hobbling on crutches, Comrie made a separate entrance and exit than Duff - who was reportedly not too happy to see the photographers, as she tried to hide behind her bag.

Nonetheless, the former Disney queen got over her bitterness of the intrusive eye of the paparazzi lens - enjoying every second of quality time she gets with her man!

Christina Aguilera’s Late Night Lovin’

Leaving baby Max with the sitter for the evening, Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman enjoyed a romantic evening of dining and clubbing on Saturday night (May 24).

The “Genie in a Bottle” singer and her producer hubby were first spotted leaving the Little Door restaurant in West Hollywood after having a late meal.

The duo then made their way over to the popular Villa nightclub in Los Angeles, where Alpha Dog actor Lukas Haas was also seen getting his groove on.

As could be expected, Christina seems to be taking advantage of being able to enjoy the nightlife, as she just gave birth this past January and is already talking about the possibility of having a second child in the near future.

When asked if she wanted more kids, she replied, “Absolutely, I can’t tell you when, as I’m not planning things like that. Maybe around the next tour.”

Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong’s Budding Romance

Continuing along with their overseas romance, Kate Hudson and Lance Amstrong were spotted making their way to a hotel in Monaco on Sunday (May 25).

Upon arrival, the cute new couple got out of their car separately in an attempt to avoid being photographed together - quickly making their way inside the luxury hotel with a few friends.

Word of the Fool’s Gold actress and champion bicyclist’s blossoming love recently gained momentum as Hudson, 29, was seen kissing Armstrong, 36, at a big D&G party in Cannes on Friday.

“They were just really into each other,” a fellow party attendee told Us magazine. “They would look at each other in the eyes and then kiss on the lips. While they were chatting, I’d notice that Lance would have his hand on the small of Kate’s back, or his hand on top of hers.”

Penelope Cruz’s “Broken Embraces”

Accompanied by director Pedro Almodovar, Penelope Cruz was resonant in red as she made a Sunday afternoon arrival in Lanzarote, the easternmost of the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean.

Penelope and Pedro are there to scout out locations and prepare for the filming of Pedro’s new movie, Los Abrazos rotos (Broken Embraces).

With Penelope taking on the starring role, the director and actress are once again reunited on the set - as their last project together was much acclaimed film Volver.

The thriller/drama, which is slated for a March 2009 release, is scheduled to begin initial filming tomorrow, co-starring Ángela Molina and Rossy de Palma.

Lindsay Lohan Cools Off in Cannes

Following back-to-back nights of partying, Lindsay Lohan opted for a day of relaxation in Cannes, France on Saturday (May 24).

Showing off her bikini body in a black two-piece swimsuit, the Mean Girls starlet and a female friend were spotted cooling off at the swimming pool of the Eden Roc Hotel - splashing about in the water in between sunning sessions.

And a break in the action is just what the doctor ordered, as LiLo has been posted up in the southern France film mecca since this past Thursday, causing quite a stir her first night in town.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Lohan was spotted canoodling with gal pal Samantha Ronson at Diddy’s yacht party - not helping with rumors that she and Ronson are more than just best friends.

David Cook is an American Idol

After a grueling season that saw a ton of talent and heart from all of the contestants, David Cook has been crowned the newest American Idol.

During last night’s season finale (which included performances from the likes of Carrie Underwood and the Jonas Brothers) at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California, the 25-year-old Blue Springs, Mo bartender was revealed as the victor, having garnered 12 million more votes than his competitor, 17-year-old David Archuleta (there were over 97 million votes cast).

Upon hearing the news, Cook exclaimed, “I started this season — much to Simon’s chagrin — as the word nerd and I’m absolutely at a loss for words.  Thank you guys. This is amazing. Thank you.”

Last week, the infamous Simon Cowell actually predicted Cook’s win, saying, “He’s done more to deserve it over the eleven weeks.  He’s taken more risks, he’s done things with certain songs that have been more interesting.”

And last night, Simon was uncharacteristically humble, stating, “I want to congratulate both of you.  It wasn’t quite so clear as we called it. In fact, David [Cook], I will take this opportunity to apologize because I think I was verging on disrespectful with you and I don’t think you deserve that.”
 

Carrie Underwood Returns to American Idol

With last night’s American Idol Season 7 finale being broadcast into millions of homes, it’s no wonder Carrie Underwood jumped at the chance to once again grace it’s stage.

The “Before He Cheats” songstress showed up on the red carpet outside Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre looking ravishing in a revealing ivy-patterned green-with-black-overlay halter dress and a pair of sexy high heels.

Once onstage, Underwood charmed the audience with her new song “Last Name” while wearing a playful cream-colored tuxedo coat-style dress with a frilly matching sash and a prom-style updo.

And it sounds like AI loves Carrie as much as she loves AI- in a recent poll, the country songstress was voted most popular Idol, with 54% of the vote.  Kelly Clarkson came in 2nd with 26% of the vote.

Eva Longoria and Tony Parker Deal with Defeat

She spent all day yesterday getting prettied up for her man’s big game, only to see him lose.  But Eva Longoria helped hubby Tony Parker feel better with a romantic dinner.

The “Desperate Housewives” hottie was spotted with her San Antonio Spur leaving the Staples Center in Los Angeles following their loss to the LA Lakers 89-85.

And the happy couple looked to be in good spirits, with Tony sporting a red striped button-up shirt, while his lady opted for a Spurs jersey.

Then, they made their way to Eva’s restaurant Beso where the “Over Her Dead Body” actress treated her NBA beau to a delicious dinner.  Hopefully the Spurs will do better in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals, coming up on Saturday in Los Angeles.

Halle Berry Says Bye-Bye to Pregnancy Pounds

Whatever this girl is doing, it’s working!  Halle Berry was spotted out and about yesterday (May 21) looking svelte and sexy.

The “Swordfish” actress was all about enjoying the warm Beverly Hills weather in a black strapless sundress with a pair of flip flops and some killer earrings.

The new mother seemed happy as she made her way around town on a bit of a shopping spree.  And after all the stress of a new baby, it’s good to see her taking some time for herself.

It’s not a moment too soon, especially given the fact that Halle is about to jump back into her acting career with projects like “Tulia,” “Who is Doris Payne?” and “Class Act” all in the works.
