Pete Doherty Gets Early Release From Prison

Serving only 29 days of his 14-week sentence for drug and driving offenses, Pete Doherty strolled out of London’s Wormwood Scrubs prison early Tuesday morning (May 6).
Upon hitting the jail’s gates, the Babyshambles frontman and former beau of Kate Moss “wasted no time in showing the assembled media a certificate indicating that he had passed a drug test while behind bars.”
Talking about his stay, Pete told press: “Well, I knew it was going to be a bit rough to start with, with the overcrowding and the medical facilities. Although they do their best - they are good, they can’t cater for the average junkie.”
And after his brief chat with reporters, Doherty cheerfully proceeded to borrow a cell phone to make plans for a ride home, when Pete saying that he “can’t wait to drink a rum and coke.”
